Why Teachers Love the Digital Reader
High-Quality Content
Choose from 1,400+ fiction, nonfiction, and decodable books—expertly crafted to engage readers and align with your instruction. Select books by phonic elements, Lexile® range, or UFLI lesson (as listed on the UFLI Decodable Text Guide) to personalize reading for every student.
Independent Learning Tracks
Digital Reader provides two highly personalized learning experiences based on individual skill level and needs: Phonics Adventures and Reading Adventures by Lexile® measure or Level. Each adventure pairs interactive games and videos with high-quality books to keep students engaged and learning.
Kid-Friendly Platform
The Digital Reader platform is easy to use and provides customizable character avatars, reading badges, and goal-setting options to keep students motivated.
Data Tracking Tools and Reports
Whether you are looking to review an individual student’s results with parents or share a report with an administrator, the Digital Reader platform provides real-time data with the Books Read, Assignments Completed, Time Spent Reading, Word Study Results, and Class Progress tracking tools. Comprehensive reports of student progress make it easy to adjust and appropriately challenge your readers.
Features for Playful Learning
NEW: Flameworks Comprehension Digital Lesson Plans
Flameworks pairs explicit instruction with high-quality complex texts to create an engaging, challenging, and inspiring learning experience.
- Spark (420L–650L) lays the foundation for comprehension with high levels of scaffolded support.
- Ember (520L–820L) strengthens comprehension by extending early skills into more complex texts.
- Ignite (740L–940L) challenges readers with increasingly complex texts while minimizing scaffolds.
- Blaze (830L–1010L) elevates advanced readers to engage with sophisticated texts requiring critical thinking, synthesis, and analysis.
These lesson plans can be found on the Flameworks bookshelf, along with anchor charts and other teacher resources.
BONUS: Spiral-bound Teaching Guide and Lesson Plan resource comes with every print kit!
Phonics Adventures
There are four stops that students will make on each Phonics Adventures journey: Play the Game, Watch the Video, Read the Book, and Think about the Story. After completing the Interactive Word Study, the video, and the first reading of the book, students will then move on to a short quiz, where three comprehension questions will help them Think About the Story.
Letter Tray
The Letter Tray is an interactive digital tool that provides hands-on practice for letter learning and word study. Students and teachers can manipulate letters in a virtual workspace to support phonics instruction, practice making words activities, learn sight words, and more!
While the Letter Tray works wonderfully on desktops, try it out on a tablet or smartboard to get the full drag-and-drop experience!

I love that the books are engaging. Our students enjoy reading them and choose to come back on their own. Thank you for making decodable books that read like stories, not tongue twisters.Erin E, Elementary Reading Teacher
